Join us to have a life transforming experience in God's presence!

For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease. Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground; Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant. Job Job 14:7-9 (KJV)

Our History

TREM (The Redeemed Evangelical Mission) Life Camp Abuja is a branch of TREM world Headquarters at Obanikoro/Anthony Oke, Lagos. TREM has over 160 branches in 10 nations of the world with several arms all geared at reaching the “unreached” wherever they can be found of which TREM Life Camp Abuja is one of the branch. We are currently the headquarters of TREM North 1 zone churches. Being the first branch of TREM established in Abuja FCT and has passed through different stages of evolution from her inception to date. Its first evolution started as a house fellowship on the 11th June, 1995 at Idu- Karmo, Abuja. The church was dedicated by the presiding Bishop of TREM Dr. Mike Okonkwo in 2001. And was later demolished in 2006. The demolition exercise required the church to move to Jabi District but in less than four weeks relocated into a rented apartment within the same district and the church continued there for a period of two years. In 2008, the church moved to 2.4 hectares (24,000m²) of land in the city of Abuja and worshipped in a temporal auditorium inside the compound. Same time commenced work on the 7,000 (Seven thousand) seated auditorium. The new piece of land has 7000 seated church auditorium, Crèche, Nursery and Primary school already in place and would be accommodating a multipurpose office complex as well as a convent of about 50 luxury flat apartments with a large car parking space. There are a lot of work to be done but God has been faithful to us even with few membership strength, He is using us to accomplish great things for His Kingdom. You too can be part of what God is doing in this ministry by supporting the work in progress in whatever capacity God gives you the enablement to make your own contribution for the expansion of his Kingdom on earth. Please do not hesitate to contact us for more information. God bless you all for being part of this great mission.

He is the Patron and Founder of the Empowerment for the Less Privileged (ELP) Foundation, a non-governmental organisation committed to alleviating the plight of the less-privileged in the society through donations to hospitals, establishment of free vocational training centres, running free preparatory schools for students in the secondary schools, and facilitating regular public enlightenment campaigns on health issues amongst others. He also pioneers a scholarship fund for talented students.

With a pastoral staff strength of over 250 men and women, the ministry has several arms all geared at reaching the “unreached” wherever they can be found. To this end, the ministry has a Prisons Outreach, which ministers to inmates in various prisons and remand homes; Word Ambassadors-this group of people organises crusades in various towns and villages; and the ‘’We Care’’ Ministry, which ministers to the less privileged through relief items, food stuffs, free basic medical care, soft short term loans and encouraging petty trading in order to make each individual self sustained.

Others are Dunamis Publications, which co-ordinates all literature generated from the ministry, Maranatha Power Play House, which ministers the word through various anointed drama presentations, The Singles Fellowship, set up to encourage the singles on how to enjoy and make the most of their single-hood while preparing them for the responsibilities of the married life, and The Intercessory Unit, the arm of the church that is dedicated to prayer not only for the ministry and programs of the ministry, but for the Body of Christ as a whole and Nigeria as a nation.

Still in a bid to positively affect the less privileged, Bishop Mike Okonkwo in partnership with his wife under the aegis of the Women of Global Impact, sponsors free cervical screening for women in rural areas and annual donation of food and clothing to the less privileged women with particular reference to widows in the villages. A peace loving man, he risked his life to ensure the reconciliation of warring parties during the Ogbunike communal clash which invariably led to the sustained peace the town enjoys today.

Bishop Mike Okonkwo is married to Bishop Peace Okonkwo and they are blessed with a daughter.

DIRECTORATES

The God we serve is a God of plan, purpose and objectivity; above all He is a God of order and ordained leadership. Romans 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers.   For there is no power but of God:  the powers that be are ordained of God. (KJV)

Here at TREM (City of Faith) Life Camp, we follow order and have a seamless constituted leadership structure that harmonizes our mode of operations with every leader having their clear terms of references:

“And Moses’ father in law said unto him, the thing that thou does is not good.   18 Thou wilt surely wear away, both thou, and this people that is with thee:  for this thing is too heavy for thee; thou art not able to perform it thyself alone.   19 Hearken now unto my voice, I will give thee counsel, and God shall be with thee:  Be thou for the people to God-ward, that thou mayest bring the causes unto God:  20 And thou shalt teach them ordinances and laws, and shalt show them the way wherein they must walk, and the work that they must do.   21 Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness;  and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens” Exodus Chapter 18 :17 – 21 (KJV)

TLC Collaboration

At TLC (TREM Life Camp), we leverage the grace of God and His mercies through the power of unity working wholeheartedly as a team to support our pastor to achieve God’s given vision for the set man of God over the whole TREM world in person of Dr. Mike Okonkwo the Presiding Bishop of TREM worldwide. God made a remarkable statement in Genesis 11: 6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do:  and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. (KJV)

Our breakthroughs lie in our understanding of the secret of working in unity and team spirit to achieve every good thing we ever conceived in our hearts for the furtherance of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. God

“They helped everyone his neighbour; and every one said to his brother, Be of good courage. 7 So the carpenter encouraged the goldsmith, and he that smootheth with the hammer him that smote the anvil, saying, It is ready for the soldering:  and he fastened it with nails, that it should not be moved. Isaiah 41:6 – 7 (KJV)
